My name is Ana Martin-Sacristan Gandia. I am from Valencia, Spain. I came to America last year mainly because I can practice and study at the same time. I am on the track and field team at The University of Akron and at the same time I study Middle Level Education Social Studies and Science.
If there is something I love to do, it's jumping. I am a long jumper and I practice track since I was seven.
Why am I in Akron? Actually when I heard the word "Ohio" I didn't even know that Ohio was a place. However, I came to Akron because this University gave me the opportunity of study and practice at the same time. Thing that I cannot do back home since sports and apart of school.
Thanks to this amazing sport and to more events in my life, I could realize that I want to be teacher. My coach taught me so many things and I feel like I need to share these "secret" ideas with others and help them. Moreover, I chose to become a teacher because I feel passion for teaching. I feel passion seeing how people learn new things. I choose to be a
teacher because I experience a sense of accomplishment by seeing knowledge
grows up inside children.
Besides running, I do love to spend hours playing ping-pong, watching scary movies and cooking!
